Start using QuoteFlowPut the cracking clause in writing
Concrete cracks. It is a property of the material, not a sign of bad work, but a homeowner seeing a hairline crack six weeks after paying you will not know that. One sentence on the estimate saying hairline cracking is normal and not a defect prevents an enormous number of callbacks and disputes. Explain control joints while you are at it.
Charge for the base, visibly
The cheap competitor is saving money by skimping on excavation and compacted base, and the failure shows up in two years, not two weeks. Break base prep out as its own line so the customer can see the difference between quotes. It is the only way that invisible work becomes a reason to choose you.
Give the cure instructions on the estimate
Keep off for 24 hours, no vehicles for a week, do not salt it the first winter. Putting aftercare on the paperwork means the customer has it in writing before there is a problem — and if they park on it on day two, you are not the one paying for the replacement.
